Specialists in sanitary process equipment

Tapflo DT active pulsation dampeners reduce pressure variations on the discharge side of a pump. They use compressed air and a diaphragm to automatically adjust to operating pressure and smooth delivery between pump strokes.

The range includes plastic, metal and sanitary constructions, allowing the dampener arrangement to match the process equipment and connection requirements.

Active Diaphragm Control Between Pump Strokes

The dampener responds to pressure changes caused by the pump’s reciprocating action. Diaphragm movement absorbs and releases liquid, reducing discharge pressure peaks and helping maintain steadier flow.

Automatic air-pressure adjustment allows the unit to respond as operating conditions change. Dampening also helps limit pipe vibration and water-hammer effects and reduces pressure fluctuations reaching connected instruments.

Plastic, Metal and Sanitary Constructions

  • PE and PTFE constructions for compatible process duties.
  • Aluminium and stainless steel versions.
  • Sanitary versions with connection arrangements for hygienic process pipework.
  • Threaded BSP and flanged configurations on applicable models.

Connection choices and dimensions vary by dampener size and construction. The illustrated hygienic version has stainless steel process connections with Tri-Clover clamps; this connection arrangement does not apply to every DT model.

Standalone and Pump-Mounted Arrangements

Documented arrangements include dampeners mounted on stands, assembled with pumps or equipped with a Guardian system. The DTK version is designed to be built onto the pump.

These arrangements provide different ways to incorporate active dampening into the pump installation, with the appropriate version depending on the pump and process layout.
