Pulsation Dampeners NZ | Pump Surge Dampeners

HD Process supplies pulsation dampeners and surge dampeners for reducing pressure fluctuations in reciprocating pump systems. The range includes Wilden Equalizer surge dampeners, Tapflo DT active pulsation dampeners and OVELL dampeners for dosing and metering duties.

These devices absorb part of the liquid delivered during a pump stroke and release it as discharge pressure falls. This helps smooth flow between strokes and reduce the effects of repeated pressure fluctuations on pipework and connected equipment.

Active Air Control and Pre-Charged Designs

Active dampeners use a compressed-air supply and a diaphragm to respond to changing discharge conditions. Wilden Equalizer and Tapflo DT units automatically adjust their air-side pressure as the pump operates.

Pre-charged diaphragm dampeners use a gas cushion separated from the process liquid. OVELL offers this arrangement alongside air-bag and air-chamber designs. Their construction and charging requirements differ from those of automatically regulated active dampeners.

Wilden, Tapflo and OVELL Dampener Ranges

  • Wilden Equalizer SD surge dampeners: automatically regulated, flow-through units with clamp-band construction.
  • Tapflo DT pulsation dampeners: active units with plastic, metal and sanitary versions, including configurations with hygienic connections.
  • OVELL pulsation dampeners: diaphragm, air-bag and air-chamber designs for reciprocating dosing and metering pump systems.

Industrial and Hygienic Connection Arrangements

The ranges cover different body materials, diaphragm materials and connection arrangements. Industrial threaded or flanged versions and sanitary configurations serve different installation requirements; hygienic suitability depends on the particular construction supplied.

Chemical duties require compatibility with the selected wetted materials. Pressure and temperature limits also depend on the individual model and material combination.
