Stainless Steel Magnetic Drive Pumps
HD Process supplies stainless steel magnetic drive centrifugal pumps for process applications where leakage from a conventional mechanical shaft seal is undesirable. The seal-less design uses a magnetic coupling to transfer drive torque while keeping the pump head isolated from the motor shaft.
Stainless steel magnetic drive pumps can be used for compatible aggressive, volatile or high-purity liquids across chemical processing, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water-treatment and industrial circulation applications.
Seal-Less Stainless Steel Pump Construction
The magnetic coupling removes the need for a conventional mechanical shaft seal between the motor and pump head. This reduces the potential for process liquid leakage associated with mechanical seal wear or failure and separates the motor shaft from the pumped fluid.
Chemical and High-Purity Liquid Transfer
Where the fluid is compatible with the selected stainless steel and other wetted components, these pumps can be considered for a range of demanding process duties including:
- Acids, alkalis, solvents and other compatible process chemicals
- High-purity or sensitive liquids used in pharmaceutical and biotechnology processes
- Food and beverage additives, syrups and cleaning agents
- Industrial water-treatment applications
Hot Oil and Glycol Circulation
Stainless steel magnetic drive pumps are also used for hot oil and glycol circulation in industrial heating and cooling systems. The seal-less arrangement avoids the conventional mechanical shaft seal that can otherwise become a potential leakage point in hot-fluid service.
Motor Isolation for Hot Pumping Duties
For suitable higher-temperature applications, an isolation distance piece or pedestal can be incorporated to increase the physical separation between the motor and hot pump head. The additional distance allows more heat to dissipate to the surrounding air before reaching the motor.
