Electric Progressive Cavity Drum Pump
Overview
The electric progressive cavity drum pump is designed for viscous, shear-sensitive products that require gentle, pulse-free transfer. A long rotor and stator assembly runs down into the open drum, delivering positive-displacement pumping even on cold or partially crystalised liquids.
Key features
An electric motor above the drum drives the pump, with optional variable-speed control to fine-tune the flow rate. The progressive cavity design provides strong suction and steady discharge, helping to empty drums efficiently while minimising aeration and foaming. Wetted parts are typically 304 or 316L stainless steel with food-grade elastomers and sanitary hose connections.
Typical applications
These drum pumps are an excellent choice for feeding downstream filters, heat exchangers, or blending tanks with honey, thick syrups, oils, creams, and slurries. They are beneficial where a consistent flow is needed for metering, pasteurising or proportioning.
